About the Role

DSM Contract Lifting Services Ltd is looking for a

Yard Supervisor

to oversee daily operations at our Brentwood depot. The role is hands-on and requires strong organisational skills, practical experience with plant, machinery, and lifting equipment, and a clear focus on safety and efficiency.

You will lead a small team, manage the flow of equipment and vehicles in and out of the yard, coordinate stock control, and ensure compliance with safety checks. The role combines supervision with hands-on tasks such as

forklift operation, offloading deliveries, and preparing lifting tackle

.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday - 9 hours per day

Saturday - occasional/overtime when required

(paid at enhanced rates)
Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of the depot yard Operate forklifts for

loading/unloading plant and equipment

Oversee

stock control

of lifting tackle, PPE, and consumables Ensure all

daily/weekly safety checks

are completed and logged Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment Support and lead yard operatives in day-to-day tasks Liaise with operational teams to prepare kit for upcoming jobs Enforce company safety standards and carry out toolbox talks Report defects, damages, and incidents promptly Assist with manual yard work when required
Pay & Benefits

35,000 per year PAYE

Requirements

Proven experience in

yard/depot supervision

or a similar role Forklift licence (desirable - training can be provided) Experience in

stock control

and equipment management Good knowledge of

plant, lifting, and/or construction equipment

Full UK Driving Licence (clean licence preferred) Safety-focused, able to enforce rules and set the standard Physically fit and able to assist with manual yard work when required Team player with good communication skills

Drug & alcohol-free

- testing may be carried out as part of employment
