Job Description

Home to over 220 boats, multiple workshops, and extensive undercover storage, our yard is undergoing a major phase of development and modernisation. We're looking for a skilled and customer-focused Yard Manager to lead yard operations and help shape the next chapter of this iconic site.

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee daily yard operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and professionalism. Operate and supervise crawler crane activities, including lifting plans Maintain and manage plant and machinery, including servicing and minor repairs. Coordinate boat movements, workshop scheduling, and storage logistics. Deliver outstanding customer service to boat owners, contractors, and visitors. Lead and support yard staff, promoting a safe and collaborative working environment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and equipment usage.

Requirements:



Proven experience as a Yard Manager or similar role in marine, construction, or heavy industry. Valid crawler crane operator certification. Strong mechanical skills and experience maintaining plant equipment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of health & safety regulations and lifting operations. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing environment.

Desirable:



Additional plant/machinery tickets (e.g. telehandler, forklift). Experience in a boatyard or marine environment. Organised and tech savy, with the ability to maintain digital records and communicate effectively.
