Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Yard Operative / Driver to join our team. This role involves general yard and labouring duties as well as driving 3.5-tonne flatbed vehicles and towing trailers for deliveries and collections. The ideal candidate will have the necessary licences and a proactive approach to supporting workshop operations.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard, ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently
Assist with general labouring tasks in and around the workshop
Drive company vehicles including 3.5T flatbeds to complete deliveries and collections
Tow trailers safely and in line with road transport regulations
Load and unload goods, ensuring correct handling and secure transport
Carry out routine checks on vehicles and equipment and report any issues
Support colleagues to ensure daily tasks are completed on time and to a high standard

Experience

Previous experience in a yard, workshop or delivery driver role is preferred
Must hold a valid UK driving licence with

Class 1 (C+E)

or

Class 2 (C)

entitlement
Valid

Driver CPC

and

Digital Tachograph Card

are essential
Experience towing trailers with 3.5T flatbeds is required
Basic mechanical awareness or forklift experience is an advantage
Strong work ethic, good communication, and a team-focused attitude are key
