Yard Operative
to join our close-knit team.
This role plays a key part in ensuring our equipment is safely handled, prepared, and dispatched efficiently to meet customer demand--whether it's a 10kVA portable unit or a 1000kVA industrial generator.
The Role
As a Yard Operative, you'll be hands-on with our stock, managing incoming and outgoing goods and maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working yard. You'll work closely with our part-time Yard Operative to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and help make sure every order is prepared accurately and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
Loading and unloading generators and equipment using forklifts and lifting gear (training provided if required)* Checking and preparing generators for delivery or dispatch
Picking, checking, and staging customer orders accurately
Keeping the yard clean, tidy, and safe at all times
Basic maintenance tasks (e.g. re-stacking pallets, general checks on generators)
Reporting any damage or faults to Directors
Supporting drivers, freight couriers, and customers during collections and deliveries
Assisting with general yard duties and supporting the wider team as needed
Working outdoors in all weather conditions (branded clothing provided)*
Note: Generator or mechanical knowledge is not required--full product training will be provided.
About You
We're looking for a reliable, hands-on team player who takes pride in their work. You'll need to be physically fit, safety-conscious, and able to keep things organised in a fast-moving environment.
You'll Need:
Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment (preferred)* A forklift license (preferred but not essential--we can train the right person)* A strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
A positive attitude and team-first mindset
Good timekeeping and attention to detail
Confidence to take initiative and solve problems
