Job Description
Position: Part-time Yard Operative (HGV Class 2)
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 2pm - 6pm (20 hours per week)Hourly Rate
: 15.85Job Purpose:
To support the delivery area operations by safely manoeuvring vehicles within the yard, transporting goods between the company's two sites, and assisting in the delivery area with daily operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles in accordance with current legislation and company procedures Manoeuvre vehicles within the company yard, ensuring safe and efficient positioning Transport goods and materials between the company's two local sites Support the delivery and despatch area with loading, unloading, and general factory tasks (some manual handling involved) Perform routine vehicle checks and report any defects or issues Maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned vehicles Adhere to all health & safety and company policies
Person Specification:
Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence Up to date CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) Experience operating commercial vehicles in a yard or logistics environment Ability to work independently and follow instructions Good communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach to work
