SUMMARY OF POSITION:


The Yard Operative supports daily site operations, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies.


Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.


Salary: 28,000-32,000, depending on experience


Responsibilities:


Maintain high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
Keep the yard and facility clean, tidy, and organised.
Manage site traffic and assist with safe loading/unloading of waste and equipment.
Conduct pre-shift machinery checks and report defects.
Perform basic lab sampling and testing for liquid waste.
Monitor waste deliveries and ensure correct disposal procedures.
Support operational and engineering teams during busy periods or absences.
Report hazards, accidents, and near misses promptly.


What we are looking for:


Previous experience in yard or site operations preferred.
Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and follow procedures.
Basic understanding of waste handling and compliance (Desirable, training provided).
Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks.
