Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Yard Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the yard and ensuring that operations run smoothly. This position involves a variety of tasks that support the overall functionality of our facility, including handling materials, assisting with deliveries, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.

Duties

Operate and maintain yard equipment safely and efficiently. Assist with loading and unloading materials from delivery vehicles. Ensure the yard is kept clean and free of hazards. Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks. Drive various vehicles, including flatbed lorries and vans, as required for deliveries. Support warehouse operations by organising inventory and materials.

Skills

Mechanical knowledge to understand and operate yard machinery effectively. Experience as a delivery driver is advantageous, particularly with flatbed vehicles. Familiarity with warehouse procedures and practices. Strong communication skills to interact with team members and management. Valid commercial driving licence preferred for operating larger vehicles. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Clean current Driving licence essential
