Job Description

We are a recycling company based in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Washington and we specialise in recycling and waste management, including the handling of materials from domestic kerbside collections, commercial collections and waste sites.

We are looking for a Yard Operative/FLT Driver to work at our Windermere Road Site, Hartlepool.

Role

To ensure yard is kept tidy, oversee glass separation plant and provide holiday cover for FLT Driver and Baler Operator, whilst maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Tasks

To monitor the glass separation plant to reduce blockages, ensuring the glass is of the correct standard and any issues are reported to the appropriate person.

To dress bales prior to moving to designated storage area.

To provide holiday cover for FLT driver and Baler Operator.

To carry out pre-vehicle/plant checks when driving or baling.

To keep the work area and yard safe, clean and tidy by clearing waste between tasks.

To wear appropriate PPE for all tasks carried out and to comply with site rules

Requirements

A current certificate for either Fork Lift Truck, Telescopic Handler or Loading Shovel is essential.

Previous work experience of the waste industry is preferred.

Previous baler experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

Hours of Work

Site operated 24 hours per day, 7 days per week

Alternate working week of 4 x 12 hour shifts week 1 and 3 x 12 hour shifts week 2, with average weekly hours of 40

Shifts 6:50am - 7:00pm and 6:50pm - 7:00am

Every other weekend off

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.40 per hour
