Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the yard and ensuring that materials are handled efficiently. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate various equipment safely. The Yard Worker will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations and ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Customer deliveries in the north west region.

Light cleaning duties.

Duties

Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management. Handle materials with care, including loading and unloading goods from lorries. Conduct equipment repairs as needed to maintain operational efficiency. Engage in heavy lifting and physical tasks as part of daily responsibilities. Operate forklifts safely, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations. Maintain a clean and organised yard environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly. Utilise a warehouse management system to track inventory levels and assist with stock control. Apply basic maths skills for measuring, counting, and recording materials accurately.

Experience

Previous experience in shipping and receiving is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with materials handling techniques and safety practices is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for performing equipment repairs effectively.

Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery is highly desirable.

A background in warehouse operations will be considered an asset.
