Medusa Stonemasonry Limited is a leading UK specialist in Natural Stone supply, Manufacture, and installation for heritage, commercial, and high-end residential projects.

An exciting position has become available for a full time Yard Operative to join a friendly team at our factory in Somerton, Somerset. If you have experience in the manufacture industry, then this is a perfect opportunity to join our company.

Role Requirements

Learn and operate the in-house machinery for stone processing.

Learn about various materials, the workshop processes into finished masonry items

. Previous yard experience preferred, although not necessary as full training will be given

Positive attitude, experience in working outdoors

Good communication skills, ability to work individually and as part of a team

Reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the business

Safety conscientious, ensuring that personal safety and that of others is key priority

. Frequent physical effort in a physical environment, e.g. lifting, using heavy equipment, within H&S guidelines.

Role Responsibilities

Load, unload, process and transport of various goods/materials on site

Sort, grade and weigh incoming and outgoing material ensuring quality is maintained

Safely operate mobile plant on site

Undertake regular checks on machinery and work areas, documenting the completion of checks and report defects in accordance with safe working practices

Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of the site, ensuring that working areas are kept safe and organized in line with safe working procedures, equipment is kept clean and tidy to a high standard

Adhere to all site rules and safe working procedures, always wearing the correct appropriate PPE

Perform other yard duties assigned to you by the Production Manager

Salary: Negotiable (Depending on experience)
