We are seeking a highly motivated Yard Planning Manager to lead our Yard Planning team. In this role, you will ensure seamless execution of daily yard operations with a key focus on safety, productivity and customer satisfaction.
You will act as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring concise communication and efficient coordination of all yard activities.
Reporting to the landside manager, you will drive improvements in yard activities, safety standards and operational efficiency whilst having line management responsibility for the Yard Planning team.
Key Requirements
Supervise and manage the yard planning team to achieve operational goals and ensure alignment with the daily yard Plan.
Monitor container volumes and yard capacity, creating and adjusting actionable plans to optimise yard efficiency.
Regularly review yard operations to identify improvement opportunities, propose corrective actions, and monitor the implementation of these initiatives.
Understand the principles of and lead the HPUK sustainability strategy. Encourage deliverance of our aim of being the first choice for a sustainable supply chain partner, providing exceptional services to customers while upholding our commitment to minimal adverse impact on our people, environment, and business.
Who are we looking for?
Educated to degree level with a minimum of 2 years' experience in an Operational environment.
Ability to engage and motivate individuals and teams to deliver required outputs, demonstrating leadership behaviours and fostering team collaboration
Proficient in yard operations and planning, with strong analytical skills for data interpretation and decision-making.
Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills to articulate complex information effectively.
Ability to act decisively and calmly under pressure while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
