Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Shunter to join our team on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and trailers within the yard, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining operational flow. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving and mechanical knowledge, as well as excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members.

Duties



Safely manoeuvre lorries and trailers within the yard, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Perform regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and other drivers to facilitate smooth operations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area to promote safety and efficiency. Report any mechanical issues or concerns regarding vehicles promptly to management.

Experience



Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with shunter experience. Class 1 HGV License essential. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues. Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with team members and ensuring operational efficiency.
