Job Title: Yard, Store Property Maintenance Operative

Base Hours: 42.5 hours per week

(flexible between 7.00 am & 6.00pm)

Location: Silverton Mews, Baldock

Reports to: Associate Director (Shopfitting & Building Services)

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Store, Yard and General Maintenance Operative to join our team.

Job Summary:

They will be responsible for managing the inventory and organisation of materials and equipment in the yard and storage areas. This role involves ensuring that supplies are readily available for ongoing projects, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and assisting with the loading and unloading of materials. To also carry out deliveries and collections from various sites, this will involve some early mornings, late evenings and occasionally weekends. To carry out general all-round maintenance repairs at various locations when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Organise and maintain the yard and storage areas, ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently.

Conduct regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels and assist in reordering supplies as necessary.

Load and unload materials and equipment from delivery vehicles and site locations.

Assist in the preparation of materials for upcoming projects and deliveries.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Maintain accurate records of materials received and issued, including documentation for deliveries.

Collaborate with contract managers and site supervisors to ensure timely availability of materials on site.

Perform general maintenance tasks in the yard, such as cleaning and organising equipment.

Have an all-round understanding of building and property maintenance and be able to work on site to carry out general maintenance repairs when required in various locations.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment, preferably in the construction industry.

Construction trade / general builder experience

Full clean driving licence

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.

Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21-15.00 per hour
