Job Description

We are looking for a permanent Yard Worker & Forklift Driver to join our Cardiff Timber Branch.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for picking orders, loading and unloading roofing materials and delivering exceptional customer service.

Hours

:

40 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday 7:30am - 16:30pm.

Salary & Benefits:

Duties:

General warehouse duties and stock management Picking orders, loading and unloading and related paperwork Customer service - dealing with customers in person Driving forklift The role offers scope to develop selling skills, customer service and an understanding of materials, stock control, orders and deliveries.

Essential skills:

Counterbalance forklift licence GCSE Maths (minimum grade C or a good understanding of metric and imperial measurements and basic mental arithmetic) Good paperwork skills Confident communicator Proven teamwork skills Naturally tidy and organised Willingness to engage with customers and provide good customer service Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised once trained Reliable, industrious, adaptable and quick to grasp new concepts Manual handling up to 25kg

Desirable:

Knowledge of roofing materials and their usage, an interest in the construction industry and good numeracy. Good arithmetic, preferably GCSE Maths grade C.
