Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and organized Inwards/Outwards Goods (FLT driver) to join our team in manufacturing and distributing roller shutter doors. This is a hands-on role that involves managing the movement, organization, and tracking of goods within the warehouse and yard, ensuring smooth operations for both inwards and outwards goods. The successful candidate should also be willing to help in other areas during down time.

Key Responsibilities

Outwards Goods

Move completed roller shutter doors from the warehouse to the yard. Organize doors into different sections based on specific driver runs. Load goods onto the appropriate delivery vehicles, ensuring accuracy and readiness for dispatch. Verify all necessary parts and materials are included and correctly allocated to each delivery vehicle.

Inwards Goods

Unload incoming deliveries using a forklift and ensure items are placed in the correct storage areas. Check and process inwards goods against delivery paperwork for accuracy. Help to develop and improve a full location-based stock system, with stock locations being relayed, so they can be inputted into the system. Filtering stock to different areas of production to ensure a smooth operation throughout.

General Yard Duties

Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the yard and warehouse. Ensure materials and finished products are stored safely and efficiently. Manage the disposal or organization of waste materials as needed.

Customer Interaction

Assist customers with order collections, ensuring all items are correctly prepared and accounted for.

Paperwork and Compliance

Complete and maintain accurate paperwork for both inwards and outwards goods. Ensure all goods are handled in line with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Valid forklift licence (with 3 years' experience). Driver's licence (moving vehicles around the yard and covering drivers when off) Previous experience in a warehouse or yard operative role, preferably within manufacturing or logistics. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and colleagues. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse/yard setting.

Working Conditions

Physically demanding role with regular lifting and moving of heavy items. Outdoor and indoor work, requiring adaptability to varying weather conditions.
Salary: 12.50 - 13.50 dependent on experience.

7:00am - 16:30pm Monday - Thursday

07:00am - 14:45pm early finish Fridays.
