Overview

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on yardsman/labourer to work across our two yards. The role involves preparing goods for delivery, general labouring, keeping the yard and workshop tidy, and supporting day-to-day operations. A full driving licence is essential. A forklift licence is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Load, unload and move goods safely around both yards. Prepare sold items for dispatch, including palleting, strapping, wrapping and basic checks. Carry out general labouring tasks: lifting, moving, sorting and yard maintenance. Keep the yard organised, clean and hazard-free at all times. Support workshop tasks including clearing offcuts, emptying waste, sweeping and maintaining a safe, clean working environment. Assist with moving containers, machinery and parts under instruction. Complete basic checks on vehicles, forklifts and equipment (training provided). Help with stock organisation and correct storage of materials. Collect or deliver small items locally when required. Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.

Requirements

Full UK driving licence (essential). Forklift licence (desirable; training provided if needed). Physically fit and able to undertake manual work. Reliable, punctual and able to work independently. Good awareness of safety and housekeeping. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

Desirable Experience

Previous yard, warehouse, workshop or machinery experience. Basic mechanical understanding. Experience loading goods for transport.

Pay: 24,420.00-28,750.00 per year
