Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within our yard environment. This role requires a strong understanding of yard management systems and the ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.

Duties

Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas. Ensure the safe handling of goods while adhering to all safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using the yard management system. Perform routine equipment checks and assist with basic repairs as needed. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient shipping and receiving processes. Conduct regular inspections of the yard environment to ensure cleanliness and organisation. Assist in materials handling tasks, including sorting and storing items in designated locations.

Skills

Proficient in operating forklifts with a valid forklift licence. Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Experience in yard operations, including shipping and receiving processes. Ability to perform heavy lifting, with a focus on safety and efficiency. Basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping. Familiarity with materials handling techniques to ensure safe transport of goods. Excellent organisational skills to maintain a tidy and efficient workspace.
