Join our one-year Data & Analytics Year in Industry programme and discover how data powers decision-making at National Highways. From improving road safety to enhancing customer experience, you'll help turn numbers into insight that makes a real-world impact.


Working with our Network, Analysis and Statistics team, you'll learn how we collect, organise and analyse data to understand how our roads are performing - and how we can make them better.


You'll gain practical experience in a large, evolving organisation, developing your skills while supporting work that helps us connect communities and improve everyday journeys across the country.

To be eligible for our placement programme, you must:


Be finishing the

second year

of your undergraduate degree programme in June 2026. Be studying a degree where at least 50% of your modules involve

numerate subjects

(this can include modules you're yet to take), e.g. mathematics, physics, econometrics, computer science, data science, research, statistics, engineering, or similar. Have experience working on statistical or analytical projects, either through your studies, work experience, or personal initiatives. Be able attend a 2-day induction from

29th-30th June 2026.

Hold an unrestricted Right to Work in the UK for the full duration of the placement.

Due to the salary level of this role, we cannot offer sponsorship for the position for individuals that don't have the Right to Work in the UK.

Assessment Centres will run in January and February 2026, and you'll hear back soon after about whether you've secured a placement.


All offers to the programme are subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks, including Right to Work, reference, and DBS criminal record checks.
