Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Young People's Support Worker to provide essential support to individuals aged 18-24. This role is pivotal in assisting young people with various needs, promoting their independence, and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in caregiving, patience, and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for young individuals facing challenges.

Responsibilities



Assist young people with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming. Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being. Support individuals in meal preparation and cooking, catering to dietary needs. Engage in cleaning and maintaining a safe living environment. Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences. Administer medication as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Foster social skills by encouraging participation in community activities and group interactions. Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance mental well-being. Document vital signs and any changes in health status for ongoing assessment.

Experience


Candidates should have experience or skills in the following areas:

First aid and CPR certification is preferred. Previous work in group homes or assisted living facilities is highly desirable. Experience with home & community care, including working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Familiarity with dementia care, memory care, or Alzheimer's care is beneficial. Background in patient care, including long-term care experience or hospice care. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment. Skills in meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning within a care-giving context. Understanding of direct support roles within the healthcare or social work fields. Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
