Night sleep ins available at 65/75 per night 11pm to 7am - so potential to earn an additional 7800 per year with two sleep ins a week.

Centre Peace was founded by an experienced Foster Carer, and our staff team are enthusiastic about providing holistic, high-quality, therapeutically informed care tailored to each young person's specific requirements. We support children and young people who have complex needs which include Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), CSE, Gang Affiliation and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking children. We create a home environment that exceeds the needs of the children and young people, enabling them to express their characters, feel safe, and enrich their lives.

We are looking for full-time child residential support workers to complete a shift pattern covering 12 or 24 hour shifts. If you are motivated to help young people make healthy life choices and achieve independence, then this may be of interest to you.

This direct work involves keeping the young people safe and following their tailored plans in safeguarding to help them develop the skills needed to reach independence. You will be supporting a small range of young people on a one-to-one basis and together, to settle into life possibly within a new area.

You will help them orientate themselves, get around on public transport or transport in the company pool car, access education and training, pursue hobbies and interests, look after themselves in their home, assist with cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and establishing routines and structure. You will take them on social outings, organise trips and support family contact as needed. You will sign post them to agencies and services to support and enhance their lives e.g., legal support, religious needs, mental health support, sporting activities or teams.

To be successful, you must:-

Be Aged 22 and over to fulfil the legal requirements of the role (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010, pursuant to schedule 9, Part 1).

Be able to showcase proven experience of working as a Support Worker or Carer with children or young adults for at least 6 months.

Have experience with other cultures and their needs such as linguistic, religious, and cultural.

Possess both experience and knowledge of Safeguarding young people.

Be comfortable and confident dealing with challenging behaviours and setting firm boundaries.

Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.

Be flexible to work across a rota and ability to adjust your schedule as per the requirements.

Have good computer skills for record keeping

Be flexible to work across a rota - doing 160 hours a month full time or 80 hours a month part time

Have a clean driving license

Be able to provide three satisfactory references.

Undertake an enhanced DBS check if you are not already o the update service

Desirable:

Have Experience of working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children

Speak Welsh, Pashto; Sorani; Farsi; Arabic.

Job Purpose:

To support children and young people to feel safe and secure and provide a pathway to independence. Our young people come from a variety of backgrounds, such as Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers, and those relocating from Gang Affiliations, and we support them to achieve specific objectives in line with their individual needs and abilities.

Responsibilities:

Overarching

Provide a positive, welcoming, and stimulating environment for the young people

Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people.

Respect and meet the physical, cultural, emotional, communication; religious, educational, and psychological needs of young people and colleagues.

Encourage young people to have a voice and input into the service they receive and to follow up on this accordingly.

Always behave in a professional manner.

Safeguard children and young people from harm and promote their welfare, discussing any potential risks / concerns with your Team Leader / Manager.

Protect the confidentially of the young people.

Keep abreast of developments, within the profession including knowledge of legislation, policy, and practice procedures relating to Care Leavers.

Specific

Deliver the objectives set in the young person's / Pathway Plan / Development Plan.

Record a daily log of all activities using the App Log My Care, ClearCare, and any other platforms Centre Peace Homes may use.

Prepare for and attend relevant meetings regarding the young people, such as child reviews, house meetings, strategy meetings etc.

Support language and communication needs.

Assist in the planning and delivery of a healthy eating plan including dietary advice, shopping lists, and budgets around a specific menu, food prep, and cooking.

Support the young people in maintaining their accommodation, including laundry, cleaning, and personal care.

Provide guidance around money management and budgeting.

Provide guidance and signposting around careers, education, and training.

Support and guidance around staying safe around topics such as mental health, physical health, drug and alcohol use, and relationships.

Arrange and accompany young people to appointments e.g., doctors, opticians, school, or college, as required.

Support family and friends' contact to ensure safety and satisfaction for all.

To check in with young people in specific circumstances.

Prepare home-cooked, nutritious meals and assist young people with cooking and food preparation.

Routine cleaning and tidying of the home to maintain it to a high standard.

Routine cleaning and general upkeep of the company vehicle.

Complete mandatory online training courses to enhance knowledge of topics, and better equip staff for when situations may arise with young people.

You will be required to accompany young people to various locations around the area and further afield, therefore, a full clean UK driving licence is essential.
