Our Young Persons Worker teams offer vital support, training, and education to young people in their locality. They work with other agencies and professionals to safeguard their young clients, working with their families too where appropriate. The work can be challenging but it's always rewarding and at With You, you'll be part of an amazing team making a real difference to people's lives.Main duties of the jobAs a Child and Youth Justice Service - Young Persons Worker, you'll be supporting a caseload of young people who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse. You'll work with them to access their needs, develop care plans, deliver a variety of treatments and/or refer them to other specialist support when needed. WithYou is a substance misuse service in Lancashire for young people up to the age of 25. You will deliver 1:1 and group work, alongside information sessions and drop-in services for young people in the local area. As a Child and Youth Justice Service - Young Persons Worker you will be working in partnership with the local authority. You will work between We Are With You offices and the local authority offices, and therefore a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role. • Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence.

ExperienceEssential

• To be able to do this job successfully, you will have:
• experience of working with Young People and/or a qualification in substance misuse, mental health, psychology, nursing or youth work
• evidence of continuous professional development
• experience of completing assessments, risk assessments or care plans with young people
• excellent relationship building skills with a range of people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including liaising with professional to support young people
• the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, sharing your skills knowledge and experience
• good organisational skills to be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising your work and being able to cope with the pressure of competing demands
• excellent written and oral communication skills, including engaging delivery of presentations to large groups of young people
• the ability to record and maintain accurate case details and in a timely manner
• effective IT skills, able to use different packages and digital media
