Supporting Vulnerable Young Women Aged 18-25



Salary:



Approx 35,958 per annum + Loyalty/Annual Bonus


(For 2-3 long shifts per week, including sleep-ins)

(Candidates must live within 60 minutes travel of Sutton or Morden Underground Station)

About the Role:



Zintarah Haven 18+ is a trauma-informed, culturally responsive supported accommodation home designed for care-experienced Black and Black mixed-heritage young women aged 18-25. We provide a safe, stable home and personalised support to build the emotional resilience, independence, and life skills needed for a successful transition to adulthood.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced

Residential Support Worker/Mentor

to work three long shifts per week (including sleep-ins) with our young women. You will help them build essential independent living skills, develop confidence, and work through the trauma of past experiences including domestic abuse and exploitation.

This is the perfect role for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young women through compassionate care and empowerment.

Working Pattern:



2-3 days per week

Shift:

9:00am - 10:00pm followed by a

sleep-in

(10:00pm - 9:00am)

Pattern:

1 day on / 2 days off / 1 day on / 2 days off (rotating) Total:

-3 long shifts + sleep-ins per week*

Key Responsibilities:



Provide emotional and practical support to young women aged 18-25. Support development of key life skills: budgeting, cooking, self-care, tenancy readiness. Build trusted, empowering relationships using a trauma-informed and mentoring approach. Manage safeguarding and risk, supporting young women at risk of exploitation or abuse. Respond to incidents appropriately and maintain a calm, professional environment. Maintain high standards in daily reports, handovers, and care records. Work closely with key professionals and contribute to support plans. Support young women to achieve independence and set meaningful personal goals.

What We're Looking For:



At least

1-2 years' experience working with vulnerable young people

in residential, semi-independent, domestic abuse, or youth support settings.

Understanding of exploitation, trauma, and domestic abuse

. Strong

safeguarding knowledge

(training provided if needed).

Experience working with Black and racially minoritised young women

is required. Knowledge of

systemic inequality

and intersectional disadvantage affecting care-experienced young women. A calm, confident, and compassionate approach with

professional boundaries

. Must live

within one hour

of

Sutton or Morden

. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins on a fixed rota.

Training & Development:



We provide:

Comprehensive induction and mandatory training

, including safeguarding, exploitation, trauma-informed practice, and more. Access to

Domestic Abuse Advocacy (IDVA) qualification

. Opportunity to complete a

Level 3 Residential Care or equivalent qualification

, fully funded. Ongoing CPD training in race equity, youth justice, and mental health.
