13.50 - 15.50 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)

About BlocHaus Climbing



BlocHaus Climbing is Manchester's only independent bouldering centre, welcoming everyone from first-time climbers to seasoned pros. We pride ourselves on quality route setting, a friendly atmosphere, and excellent customer service.

We offer inclusive coaching for all abilities, through our Youth Programme based on the NICAS framework, to our Youth Squad - a performance pathway for young climbers Competing.

Role Purpose



The Youth Programme Co-ordinator will be fully responsible for the delivery, development, and growth of youth programs at BlocHaus Climbing. They will plan and deliver engaging, progressive sessions for participants of all levels.

This role combines hands-on coaching with leadership, mentoring, and program development. Additionally, the Co-ordinator will be required to lead the Coaching Social - a drop-in session designed to support and engage the wider BlocHaus community.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and evolve the youth program.

Plan, lead and deliver coaching sessions across all levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced, Youth Squad).

Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and inclusion are embedded in all activities.

Collaborate with the management team to align the programme with business goals, scheduling, and marketing initiatives.

Lead, support and develop assistant instructors, maintaining a high standard of session delivery and safety.

Essential Requirements & Experience



Availability Wednesday evenings and Saturdays.

MLTE Qualification (e.g. CWI / BWI or higher).

Proven experience coaching in an indoor bouldering or climbing environment.

Excellent communication skills, strong session-planning, organization and time-management skills.

Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and professional coaching standards.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience



Foundation or Development Coach

Familiar with the NICAS Bouldering scheme.

Sports-science qualifications.
