Working Pattern:

28 hours per week, Monday to Thursday between the hours of 8.30am - 4pm

Salary:

21,000.00 per annum (26,250.00 per annum, pro-rata)

Annual Leave Entitlement:

25 days, plus 9 public holidays, plus 3 days for Christmas shutdown (pro-rata)

What you'll do



We have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Employability Officer to join our growing team, supporting with the Construction Aware Programme. Reporting to the Employability Manager, you will deliver day-to-day support for the young people on the Construction Aware Programme, including learning delivery, pastoral care, structured reflection, and engagement with schools and programme partners.

You will work in partnership with DYW Glasgow to ensure young people are supported, motivated, and meaningfully engaged throughout the programme.

As part of your role, your main responsibilities will include:

Providing day-to-day support of young people participating in the Construction Aware Programme, providing relational consistency, encouragement, and tailored mentoring. Delivering structured soft skills sessions as part of FARE Scotland's modular learning programme. This includes team building, communication, goal setting, confidence, early CV and interview skills, and employability awareness. Providing contingency learning when site visits are cancelled, ensuring all participants continue to progress and benefit from meaningful development. Designing and delivering group sessions accommodating a range of learning styles and support needs. Undertaking 1-to-1 support, including goal setting, wellbeing check-ins, and participant reflections. Monitoring and recording young people's engagement and soft skill development through daily feedback and reflection tools. Liaising with schools to support sustained engagement and positive outcomes for each participant. Collaborating with DYW Glasgow and employer partners to guide young people through site visits and reflective workbook sessions. Supporting internal case study development by capturing quotes and stories from participants. Attending internal and external meetings to represent FARE Scotland and contribute to programme development. Monitoring and evaluating the programme alongside colleagues, contributing to reporting requirements.

About you



The successful candidate for this role will have:

Proven experience in youth work, employability, or education. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Confidence in building relationships with young people and supporting those facing challenges. The ability to facilitate group work sessions. The drive and initiative to work independently. The ability to work with people at all levels internally and externally. An organised and systematic approach to monitoring and reporting. Knowledge of Microsoft office packages. A full driving licence. A minimum SCQF level 7 qualification in a relevant field or a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
