Teens Unite is an energetic, ambitious, and fast-growing charity dedicated to improving the lives of 13-24-year-olds during, and after cancer.

We're not a medical charity - we don't exist to cure cancer. We empower young people to live positively with cancer and thrive beyond it. We organise activities, programmes, and residential stays that give teenagers and young adults the opportunity to enjoy new experiences, make friends, learn new ski ls, and live life to the fu l without cancer holding them back.

Teens Unite is entering an exciting new chapter of growth as we work towards opening the first retreat in England for teenagers and young adults impacted by cancer. Alongside this, we are responding to a 45% increase in young people registering for our support.

To meet growing demand and ensure young people receive the support they need, we're expanding our Youth Engagement Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the forefront of delivering innovative and impactful social and physical support -making a lasting difference in young people's lives.

Location:

Broxbourne, Hertfordshire (Office-based a minimum of 3 days per week, with flexibility for hybrid working)

Contract:

Permanent

Hours:

35 per week (A minimum of 28 hours considered, flexible working available)

The role:



Cancer impacts young people in every area of their lives: mental health, friendships, education, employment, and self confidence - not just during treatment but long afterwards.

As part of the Beneficiary Services Team, you'll lead on planning and delivering a dynamic annual programme of in person and digital activities and events. You'll also play a key role in expanding our reach and engaging even more young people who need us. As a team, we deliver over 100 events and activities each year - your role help ensure they are innovative, impactful, and appealing to young people.

Welcome and act as the first point of contact for young people and their families, building trust and ensuring they feel supported Design, plan, and deliver a dynamic calendar of in-person and digital activities that genuinely appeal to this age group - mixing creativity, fun, and challenge Lead our Be Active pilar of support, organising sports and fitness activities that empower young people to rebuild strength, confidence, and resilience following diagnosis. You'll work with inspiring partners such as Tottenham Hotspur, Ballerz, Lee Valley, and more Visit hospitals across the UK, delivering hands-on activities on wards and raising awareness of Teens Unite services Champion inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring our support is relevant and open to all, regardless of background, culture, or ability, and ensure our records are up to do date to manage this Develop and grow our family support programme, giving parents and siblings opportunities to connect Monitor and evaluate impact, ensuring the voices of young people are heard and using their feedback to shape and improve what we do

Additional information:



Travel - Travel across the UK will be required for events, hospital visits, and meetings (expenses covered) Flexible working - Our core hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, but activities often run evenings (until 8pm) and weekends (around one day per month). Hours will be adjusted accordingly Residential stays - Twice a year we deliver four-night residentials. This role requires attendance for the full duration (time off in lieu provided)

Person Specification



Essential:

Passionate about supporting young people facing life-changing challenges, and motivated to make a tangible difference Have a keen interest in sport and use this passion to encourage others to participate Organised and efficient, with the ability to plan and deliver projects with exceptional attention to detail A strong communicator who can build trust and engagement, and confidently present and lead activities
Desirable:

A full, clean UK driving licence. Qualifications or experience in youth work, social care, family support, or community projects
