Title:

Youth Sports Lead

Salary:

15-18 per hour, plus mileage allowance

Hours:

3 hours per week

Mondays

1.5hrs Moat Leisure 3g Pitch, Wood End times 5.45pm-7.15pm

Thursday:

1.5hrs: St. Finbarr's 3G pitch times 4.45pm-6.15pm

Car essential to travel between venues transporting equipment.

Contract:

31st March 2027

Additional hours may be available on ad-hoc basis for example if needed for cover or holiday activities.

Main Purpose of role:



To plan, lead and deliver inspiring, interactive and engaging football and multi-sports sessions for all participants to provide high quality and enjoyable experiences for ages 8-18 years.

Youth Sports Lead



To create sessions which enable individuals to develop their skills and abilities.

Be able to engage with young people in community settings using physical activities which include Football, and other multi-sports.

To create a safe and positive environment for all participants to engage in sports activities

To supervise young people and ensure general health and safety and rules of conduct.

Work as a team with other staff and volunteers during sessions in a community youth setting - sports centre, Astro pitch, youth club, or park.

Carry out all duties in line with Safeguarding Children Policy and other policy regulations.

Ensure all administration processes are implemented for sessions including registers, session plans, evaluation.

Excellent communication with staff colleagues, network contacts, volunteers, and managers.

Contribute to keeping up to date and accurate records.

Organise and maintain sports equipment efficiently.

Support programme set-up and clean-up.

Work in partnership with professionals from other organisations that support young people such as social care, health, police, education, youth offending teams, local authorities and voluntary sector.

To take part in personal development reviews, the supervision process and compulsory training.

Support volunteer development through coaching, role modelling, appraisal processes and all staff development activity. Any other duties and responsibilities which may arise and correspond with the post. To have a flexible and positive attitude. To be responsible for key holding and access to buildings.
To participate in support/information meetings and one to one supervision meetings

Attend relevant training courses/workshops.

The post holder must comply with the Interagency procedures of the Safeguarding Boards policies for safeguarding children and is required: -

To ensure they are aware of the signs that may suggest a child or vulnerable adult is being abused or neglected To report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, their manager, or Director, any concerns they may have that suggest that a child or vulnerable adult may be being abused or neglected immediately
The post holder must comply with Aptitude Organisation CIC Health and safety policy and is required: -

To take reasonable care for their own health and safety at work and of those who may be affected by their actions or by their omissions To cooperate with their line manager and senior management, to work safely, to comply with health and safety instructions and information and undertake appropriate health and safety training as required Not to intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare To report to their manager any health and safety concerns, hazardous condition or defect in the health and safety arrangements.
This post is subject to full enhanced DBS Service Check.
