Youth Support Worker
to contribute to the delivery of high?quality youth work programmes. The role involves supporting both
EA-funded
and
RAISE-funded
initiatives, helping us meet the needs of young people within our community and providing safe, inclusive, and developmental opportunities.
About the Role
The Youth Support Worker will assist in planning and delivering youth work programmes, supporting group work activities, and fostering positive relationships with young people. The successful candidate will promote participation, inclusion, and wellbeing, while upholding safeguarding responsibilities and the values of the youth centre.

Pay Grade:
Essential Criteria
OCN Level 2/3 Introduction to Youth Work or equivalent.
Understanding of the needs and challenges facing young people.
Awareness of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
Understanding of youth participation and effective youth engagement.
Ability to plan and deliver group work and developmental programmes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with young people and adults.
Ability to build positive relationships and rapport with young people.
Ability to promote inclusion and challenge oppressive behaviour.
Ability to work effectively within a team and with external partners.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and attend residentials as required.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and the welfare of young people.
Desirable Criteria
Experience serving as a positive female role model to meet the specific needs of girls and young women within our programmes
Additional youth?work?related training (e.g., mental health first aid, trauma?informed practice, arts or sports facilitation).
Understanding of the Model of Effective Practice and the Department of Education's Emotional Health and Wellbeing Framework.
Experience in delivering structured group work or developmental programmes.
Experience working in a detached youth work setting.
Experience supporting volunteers or junior staff.
Experience engaging with community organisations or external agencies.
Understanding of evaluating youth work activities and outcomes.
Ability to contribute creative, digital, sports, or arts?based skills to youth programmes.
Ability to support programme planning, monitoring, and reflective practice.
