Portishead Youth & Community Centre (PYCC) has been providing positive activities, support and a safe and welcoming environment for local people since 1966. Youth Work has always been integral to our organisation and providing high quality, accessible and engaging sessions led by qualified and experienced Youth Workers for children and young people aged 8-30 (including those with SEND) to attend and enjoy, is vital to our mission and values.
Since 2012, Portishead Youth & Community Centre has been an independent company limited by guarantee and registered charity, funded through a range of income sources including grants, donations and self-generated income. We currently deliver 15 sessions a week for children and young people, including open access youth club sessions, projects, SEND youth club provision, ASDAN Short Courses, drop-in sessions and detached sessions in the local community.
The Youth Work and Engagement Lead will be responsible for developing, delivering, maintaining and evaluating our youth work offer, ensuring our provision is relevant, fun, engaging and a recognised source of support and guidance for young people as they transition through adolescence, and into adulthood.
The Youth Work and Engagement Lead will take a central role in leading and delivering youth and community engagement programmes within the Centre and the local community. The post holder will work directly with young people, staff, and community partners to design and deliver inclusive, inspiring activities that promote personal development, wellbeing, and youth participation.
This role will also champion youth voice and leadership, ensuring that young people are actively involved in shaping the youth work offer and leading positive change in the local community.
