Hours:
12 hours per week - Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-6:30pm
Temporary for 6 weeks possibly more.

Salary:
12.32 per hour
Main Duties:
To ensure that young people aged between 9-19 years, are supported in their access to high quality youth provision, to support young people in their learning, as well as helping raise their confidence and self esteem through engaging, challenging and educational activities and programmes.
General Responsibilities:
To engage with young people in a positive manner by being supportive and empathetic
Help plan and deliver stimulating and interesting youth sessions
Help increase the participation of young people
Provide appropriate support and guidance to young people.
To encourage young people to be volunteers in their community and to help expand these opportunities
To help compile and provide information for necessary reports and evaluation documents
To work closely with and assist the Youthlink Coordinator
To work additional hours, as required with notice, during school holidays and residential/day trips as well as to cover the work of colleagues during periods of planned and unplanned absences
Report any concerns to your line manager
In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to take care of your own health and safety at work and of any clients you are working with. This includes reporting any risks or potential hazards to the Health and Safety Officer
Attend supervision and appropriate internal and external training courses as approved by line manager
To perform any other duties as appropriate for this role

Ability to engage with and relate to young people from a variety of backgrounds
Confident, energetic and motivated individual with a flexible approach to work
Excellent team player
Enjoys working with young people and helping them in their personal and social development
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Enjoys partaking in and organising both indoor and outdoor activities
Qualifications or Skills:
A good standard of English, written and verbal is essential
Good standard of education is essential
Experience of working with young people is essential
Qualification in youth work/community work or similar is preferred
Skills or experience in sports, media, music, outdoor education is also desirable
