About the Role
As a
Residential Day Support Worker
, you'll work as part of a supportive team, delivering consistent care and encouragement to children and young people. You will:
Provide hands-on support, including personal care and daily living tasks
Build positive relationships that promote trust and confidence
Encourage personal, social, and emotional development through activities and routines
Follow and contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
Maintain a safe, nurturing home environment
Keep clear, accurate records and promptly report any changes in behaviour or wellbeing
Work in partnership with families, colleagues, and professionals to ensure joined-up support
Travel where required to support young people in different settings
Your shifts will follow a regular 2-week rolling rota, giving you both structure and work-life balance.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience supporting children or young people (residential care or similar setting preferred)
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and positive relationships
Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a genuine commitment to helping others
Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Flexibility to work a structured rota including weekends and evenings
Team player with a collaborative, supportive approach
Desirable:
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People's Workforce
First aid training
Experience supporting children with complex or challenging behaviours
Full UK driving licence
