Support, Educate and Nurture

We have an exciting position for someone who is passionate about working with young people with Autism. The position is to work in a specialist school supporting a pupil 1:1 at KS3 age.

You will work with the teacher to implement learning interventions to help the pupil reach their education goals. You will be using PECS, now and next cards, visual timetables and ipads to help with communication.

The role is an active role taking the pupil to sensory sessions, soft play and music therapy. You may also be expected to go on local trips and assist with swimming.

You will be working with a team of educators to create an inclusive and supportive environment to help the student grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Requirements:

TA qualification, childcare qualification or Care Qualification, Someone who is adaptive, Great communicator, Passionate about working with young people with Autism, Previous experience supporting children or adults with autism or additional learning needs, Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.

Pay: 95.00-105.00 per day
