Summary


A rewarding opportunity to support a primary-aged pupil with both learning needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges in a mainstream classroom. This long-term temporary role has the potential to become permanent and welcomes both full-time and part-time applicants.

What You'll Be Doing


Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you'll deliver tailored one-to-one support to help the pupil access learning, build emotional resilience, and thrive socially. From implementing personalised strategies to managing resources and tracking progress, your role will be central to the pupil's academic and emotional journey.

Who We're Looking For


We're keen to hear from individuals with a strong interest in SEND and previous experience supporting children with SEMH and learning needs. A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred, but relevant experience will also be considered. You'll need to be calm, compassionate, and consistent - someone who can build trust and respond supportively to behavioural or emotional challenges.

Working Hours


8.30 am to 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Both full-time and part-time hours are available.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
