WORK PATTERN : Full Time : 8.45am to 3.15pm - Monday to Friday (term time only)

(would consider job share / part time)

PAY GRADE / SCALE : Grade 3 / SCP6 - Grade 4 / SCP7

(depending upon qualifications and experience)

SALARY : 25,584 - 26,403 (FTE) this will be pro rata'd to contracted hours

CLOSING DATE : Midday Friday 31st October 2025

INTERVIEW DATE: Friday 7th November 2025

START DATE (if possible): 10th November 2025

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to work under the guidance of the Inclusion Team to provide one to one support to a pupil. You will assist in meeting the learners' need for encouragement, reassurance and comfort and attend to their personal requirements and physical care while encouraging independence at all times. This is a full time funded role (term time only) to cover the one to one support required by an individual pupil. This contract will terminate when the child leaves the school or if funding ceases. Part time / job share will be considered.

Key aspects of the role are:

-- To deliver occupational therapy and/or physiotherapy following a programme provided to us by the therapy team

-- To assist with personal hygiene

-- To assist the child with transfers from one piece of equipment to another

-- To support the child with learning tasks

-- To support the child to communicate, play and work with their peers

About You

Your role will be to support the learning and physical development of a pupil with additional needs alongside and in consultation with other school staff. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and nurturing Teaching Assistant.

-- good behaviour management including the skills to deal confidently with challenging behaviour

-- Experience of using Makaton and/or delivering speech and language programmes

-- ability to work in a team

-- ability to work 1:1 and in small groups

-- Experience of teaching Read Write Inc phonic programme

-- a commitment to supporting individual children's social, moral, emotional and academic well-being

-- empathy

-- an understanding of children's emotions and behaviour and actively seek to remove barriers to learning
