1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Cardiff

Full-Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start

90-105 per day (DOE)

We are seeking compassionate, patient and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school in Cardiff. You will be working closely with 3-19 pupils who require tailored support due to a combination of needs including PMLD, BESD, and SEMH.

The Role

Support pupils with complex needs including Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties, Behavioural, Emotional & Social Difficulties, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs. Assist with personalised learning plans under the guidance of teachers and therapists. Support sensory, behavioural, communication and therapeutic activities. Provide emotional reassurance, consistency and routine. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams. Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Experience supporting children or young adults with SEN, PMLD, SEMH or complex needs. A calm, nurturing and resilient approach. A genuine passion for helping pupils grow in confidence and independence. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust. An Enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS (or willingness to apply).
