We are seeking

compassionate, resilient and reliable 1:1 Support Mentors

to join SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools. These roles are ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and are committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning.


What You'll Be Doing:



Providing dedicated 1:1 support to students with SEMH needs Helping pupils regulate emotions, build confidence, and engage in learning Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting de-escalation when needed Acting as a mentor, role model and trusted adult

Ideal Backgrounds with Transferable Skills:



We welcome applicants from diverse sectors. You

don't need school experience

- just the right attitude and relevant background.


You may have previously worked in:


Youth work or youth offending services Residential care or supported living for vulnerable young people/adults Mental health or addiction support services Prisons, probation, or community rehabilitation Charities or outreach programmes SEN/SEMH provisions or Pupil Referral Units Healthcare or therapy-based roles (e.g., Occupational Therapy Assistants, Support Workers)

Key Skills & Qualities:



A calm, consistent and nurturing approach Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Resilience in the face of challenging behaviour Ability to build trust and strong relationships Flexibility and adaptability A good sense of humour and positive attitude!

Requirements:



Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Right to work in the UK References covering the last 2 years Some relevant experience (paid or voluntary)
