We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and caring learning support assistant with a 'can-do' attitude to join our friendly, supportive team as soon as possible.
The position involves working on a 1:1 basis with a child currently in Year 1 who has additional needs.
The child's needs relate to:
Social Communication Needs (Autism)
Settling to the task and maintaining the child's focus and attention
Supporting the child to become independent
Understanding and following routines
Helping the child to select scaffolding resources
Supporting at breaktime with play and interaction with peers
The pupil has no behavioural needs and is an absolute delight to work with.
You will be required to support the child not just in the classroom and day-to-day activities, but also through targeted interventions out of the classroom and social support.
Please note that the role also includes some breaktime and lunchtime duties, supporting the pupil with social interaction.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

The role is initially 17.5 hours per week (term-time only) (9:00am - 12:30pm) working with a named child. We anticipate this rising to up to 40 hours per week (term-time only) in the future.
This is a fixed term position and employment is dependent upon the pupil remaining at the school.
