Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mentor to provide guidance and support to children in various educational settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs. As a Mentor, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive learning environment, promoting personal growth, and enhancing academic skills.

Duties



Provide one-on-one mentoring to children, focusing on their individual needs and learning styles. Assist with academic subjects such as maths and literacy through tutoring sessions. Implement behaviour management strategies to support positive interactions and learning outcomes. Utilise speech therapy techniques as needed to aid communication skills development. Develop and deliver engaging activities that promote physical education and overall well-being. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create tailored educational plans. Maintain accurate records of progress and provide constructive feedback to students and their families. Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all children, including those with special educational needs.

Qualifications



Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting. Background in early childhood education or special education is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with children effectively. Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis principles is advantageous. Experience in teaching physical education or related activities is beneficial. Proficiency in proofreading educational materials for clarity and accuracy. Ability to mentor peers or junior staff members effectively. Familiarity with toddler care and preschool experiences will be considered an asset.
