Inspire young people and shape their futures.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and committed tutor to deliver Functional Skills Maths (Entry Level 1 to Level 2) as part of our 16-19 Study Programme. You'll also support learners' personal development, helping them gain the confidence and skills needed to move into further education, training, or employment.
What you'll do:
Teach Functional Skills Maths and non-accredited maths courses.
Deliver employability and customer service skills.
Support Personal, Social and Health Education topics such as emotional well-being and financial literacy.
Collaborate with a supportive team to create engaging learning experiences.
Engage with the wider community to support learners beyond the classroom.
What we're looking for:
A passion for teaching maths and making a real impact.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn and deliver additional subject areas (training provided)
Maths
You will deliver Functional Skills maths from entry level 1 to level 2 as well as non- accredited maths courses. This is the primary delivery curriculum.
Customer Service
You will deliver Entry level 3 and level 1 units on an Introduction to Customer Service qualification in partnership with tutors within the department. You will support our young people in gaining the employability skills required to find work and function effectively within a working environment.
Personal, Social and Health Education
You will support our young people to understand emotional health and well-being and financial capability which will enable them to make informed choices. Training and support will be provided to enable the successful completion of this component of the study programme.
Training and support will be provided for all non-maths elements.
About You
If you hold or are working towards a teaching qualification in maths and have experience of teaching learners who are 16 to 19 years of age, we would like to hear from you.
We are looking for tutors who can communicate clearly, have attention to detail, and who can plan and draw together a range of activities for their learners.
This is an enhanced DBS role where you will understand safeguarding and working with vulnerable children and/or adults, creating inclusive and safe learning environments.
You will need an understanding of the requirements of the DfE (Department for Education), Ofsted and the needs of the communities in West Sussex.
