1st Line IT Support Apprentice

Location: Hybrid role with the requirement to travel to DEKRA offices in Stokenchurch and Southampton
Salary: Competitive, DOE
Contract: Full time, Permanent

In the UK, we offer diverse services across automotive, oil and gas, insurance and chemical and process safety industries.

We are now recruiting for an 1st Line IT Support Apprentice who will work in a lean UK Team which are integrated into our larger Global IT Team.

You will help to configure and develop our client facing web software and mobile platforms will be your bread and butter, you will contribute towards system enhancements and participate in the development process.

There will also be an opportunity to input into the technologies and methods used to programme the systems.

In addition to this as our 1st Line IT Support Apprentice you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain, configure and improve our software
  • Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
  • During the software development lifecycle participate in the testing phase to ensure that they are delivered in line with the specification / business needs.
  • Participate in the development process as we upgrade component versions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of software programs as required.
  • Provide platform & application support across all DEKRA web software applications and mobile apps
  • Author and format technical documentation appropriate for the intended audience
  • To meet all learning commitments of the apprenticeship as directed by your line manager, mentor and or the learning/training provider. Assigned qualifications and an end point assessment must be completed. This can include presentations, portfolios, units of assessment and exams.
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
  • GCSE\xe2\x80\x99s in Math\xe2\x80\x99s, English, ICT; grades C/4 or higher, or functional skills level 2 or higher
  • Some knowledge of relational databases/architecture/design
  • Some knowledge of MS SQL Database and related tools including queries
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary
  • Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business
  • Positive inclination to troubleshooting, analytical and reporting skills
  • Interest in cyber and info security
