Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated 2nd / 3rd IT Line Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in supporting, maintaining and improving the IT infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will be one of the escalation points for all support queries. They will assist in providing advice and support where needed to all users within the business, and will act as a technical mentor to colleagues in the IT team and ensure that service levels are maintained across the business.

Duties

To provide support for relevant equipment, hardware, software and related information systems To assist with the installation and implementation of equipment, hardware, software, and related information systems To liaise with the Head of IT & IT Team Leader to ensure that upgrades or implementation of equipment, hardware, software, related information systems and services are performed effectively and within agreed timescales To respond to either first line support or end user software or hardware queries via remote support, email, phone or in person To implement the adherence of correct procedures ensuring that all equipment, hardware, software, related information systems are properly controlled and registered To provide support for production-based systems including CNC, CAD and production line PC terminals To implement and adhere to EHG security / policy compliance To be self-motivated towards achieving set targets and objectives To work in a safe manner by driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regards to the Company's health and safety policies To implement the out of hours IT maintenance requirements to ensure no impact to the production / office-based services both internal and external To carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected

Requirements

Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a computing discipline or previous work history in a similar role. Proven ability in root cause analysis. Ability to work methodically and effectively with excellent time management and prioritisation skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Self-motivated with a high degree of creativity and initiative. Customer-focused. Excellent attention to detail. Flexible, reliable and adaptable. Ability to build collaborative working relationships. (Desirable) Has evidenced experience within similar role in a manufacturing environment.
