Are you a creative 3D designer with a passion for turning imaginative ideas into real play environments?

We're seeking a3D Playground Designerto join our creative team. You'll help design immersive, safe and inspiring outdoor play spaces, from concept through to detailed visuals for manufacture and installation.

At Precision Timber, we specialise in crafting bespoke natural playgrounds, sustainable outdoor play equipment and landscaping solutions. We work with schools, nurseries, parks and commercial clients to create high-quality outdoor spaces where children's play and learning combine.

The Role:

As 3D Playground Designer you will translate client briefs into vivid 3D visualisations and detailed design drawings. You'll liaise with the sales and project teams, ensure technical accuracy, safety and manufacturability, and help our clients and installers see a playground before it becomes reality.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop 3D models, visualisations and layouts of playground spaces that capture creativity, play value and practicality. Interpret site surveys, client briefs and technical drawings to produce compelling designs suitable for manufacture and installation. Work in 2D and 3D CAD software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc), prepare drawings, specifications, cutting lists and documentation. Collaborate with sales, project, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are realistic, cost-effective and safe. Ensure all designs comply with play/safety standards (e.g., BS EN 1176) and fit within budget and timeline constraints. Stay updated with design trends, materials and play equipment innovations, and suggest new features or options.

Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience in 3D design (AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar), ideally within play equipment, landscaping or construction. Strong visualisation skills and creative mindset with attention to detail. Ability to interpret technical documents and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills and ability to present concepts to clients. Proactive problem-solver with a passion for play, children's spaces and creative design. Knowledge of safety standards and playground equipment manufacturing is an advantage.
