This role could require some flexibility around working hours and days depending on Project run times and meeting critical lead times.




ABOUT THE ROLE

:



We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate with a positive can-do attitude to join our R & D team as technician in the 3D modelling area. The Technician will be responsible for supporting with testing of a variety of individual projects within 3D printing and finishing technique, responding to the changing needs of the department, as required. Working alongside other experts, the Technician will aid the development of the 3D printing and finishing area to ensure prototype parts are processed to a high standard and within allocated and often short timescales. The aim is to support product development or support existing Numatic International products through whole product lifecycle.




RESPONSIBILITIES

:


Provide information, advice or guidance to other employees relating to 3D printing, communicating progress and requirements to relevant stakeholders.

Assist in the finishing of 3D produced parts via post-processing / finishing / dyeing and spraying, responding efficiently to urgent requests may be required. Work within a workshop or test laboratory environment as required. Produce and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP's), objectives, requirements and documentation throughout a development cycle.

Work largely reactively, developing and introducing new equipment as required and carry out routine operation of equipment including inspection, cleaning and maintenance in accordance with operational instructions.

Use creativity; collaborate with other specialists, to ensure quick diagnosis of routine problems using effective troubleshooting. Engage with internal specialists to ensure an optimised solution is developed to support continuous improvement through innovation, commercialisation and business need.

ABOUT YOU

:


Robust knowledge and experience in 3D printing software, 3D machines and general engineering would be an advantage Knowledge of standard production and manufacturing techniques.

Motivation to maintain and improve mechanical standards.

Good communication skills, ability to communicate verbally, written and via presentation according to the audience.

Ability to analyse problems and strategise for better solutions.

Knowledge in the use of 3D CAD packages or similar appropriate to 3D printing and of document control.
