Engineer Officer in charge of the Watch, Ensuring safe and efficient operation of machinery during watch keeping. Carrying out duties of an Engineer as contained within the Company's Technical Procedures. Maintaining machinery as instructed by the Second Engineer and/or Chief Engineer

Additional Requirements

The Third Engineer is responsible to the second Engineer for:




Maintaining an engine room watch/UMS duty engineer as required



Maintaining all plant and paying particular attention to the main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines and boilers



Adopting safe working practices onboard



In the absence of an Electrical Officer onboard undertake electrical maintenance, including the completion of all PMS items in ShipSure



Understudying the Second Engineer whenever opportunities arise



Undertaking any other tasks, duties as instructed by the chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer
