Role Overview
As a Third Line Technician, you'll be the escalation point for complex technical issues that our first and second-line teams can't resolve. You'll work across a wide range of technologies--Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, security, and servers--and play a hands-on role in projects, migrations, and infrastructure improvements for our managed customers.
You'll need a deep technical understanding, strong diagnostic skills, and the confidence to take ownership of issues end to end. This role suits someone with solid MSP experience who thrives in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Handle third-line escalations from the Service Desk and act as a technical mentor to junior engineers
Manage and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Azure AD environments
Support, migrate, and optimise Microsoft 365 tenants (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, Defender, etc.)
Implement and troubleshoot networking (WatchGuard, Fortinet, Datto Networking, VLANs, VPNs, DHCP scopes)
Maintain and recover virtual infrastructure (Hyper-V, Azure VMs, Datto SIRIS)
Configure and secure endpoints via RMM (Datto, Kaseya, or similar) and AV/SOC solutions (Bitdefender, RocketCyber, SaaS Alerts)
Contribute to BCDR, security hardening, patch management, and automation initiatives
Document solutions in IT Glue and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues
Experience & Skills
3-5+ years in an MSP or similar multi-client environment
Advanced understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server
Strong networking knowledge (firewalls, routing, VLANs, VPNs)
Experience with Datto, WatchGuard, or Fortinet products
Confident in PowerShell scripting and automation
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Comfortable handling high-priority incidents and project delivery
Desirable
Microsoft or CompTIA certifications (MCSA, MS-100/101, AZ-104, etc.)
Experience with Dynamics 365 or other business applications
Familiarity with ITIL processes and Autotask PSA
