Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to work for a leader in the healthcare and health technology industry.

Role Overview:
The role is focussed on building strong relationships with 3rd parties.
You will be the single point of contact for all 3rd parties - there are about 150 of them.
You will need to be adept at making positive relationships with those 3rd parties.
Also bringing in appropriate 3rd parties to support completion of that tender.
Duties will encompass financial, contractual and having many discussions.
It will also be good to have an understanding of how procurement runs.
This role is very multitasking, so you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to be very organised.

The Role:
The MPS 3rd Party Commercial Manager will be responsible for developing, driving and implementing the overall strategic direction for the provision of 3rd Party supplier solution(s) and service(s) within the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s Managed Pathology Services (MPS) offering, such that this delivers value added differentiation within the diagnostics\' marketplace.

It is envisaged that this role will have significant input into the development and sustainability of the overall organisation\xe2\x80\x99s MPS strategy for GB & I, and be pivotal in operationalising the various components of it in line with the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s and market requirements.

Critical to the success of the MPS strategy will be the development of robust strategic relationships with key 3rd Party suppliers such that solution(s) and service(s) are both complementary to, and further enhance the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s\' offering in Pan-Pathology Bids. It will be essential that such 3rd Party solutions are developed in line with the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s design and management approach, and this role will be fully conversant with the development of such solutions.

The scope of 3rd Party solution(s) and service(s) must be strategically developed across the full spectrum of pathology services. It is expected that such relationships will develop further revenue and profit opportunities, in addition to innovation within the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s MPS Bids.

Closely working with Sales, Bid Development and Procurement teams; the MPS 3rd Party Commercial Manager will formulate Pan-Pathology solutions that are commercially viable and serve to enhance the overall win rate of organisation\xe2\x80\x99s\' Bids, whilst maintaining the desired level of profitability of MPS accounts and ultimately, drive the marketshare of organisation\xe2\x80\x99s within the Laboratory Diagnostics\' arena.

This role will take a lead in the formulation and collation of tender responses from 3rd Party suppliers given the overall solution strategy of organisation and the Authority for each specific Bid.

In order to deliver consistent and differentiated solutions, the 3rd Party Commercial Manager will ensure that all required services are defined and delivered with each responsible 3rd Party supplier. Such services may include, but not limited to, implementation, governance, performance contract monitoring, service level agreements, alignment to UKAS and local accreditation, training and competency, LEAN events and so on.

Furthermore, this role will ensure that robust contracts are negotiated and are in place with 3rd Party suppliers; that serve to mitigate any commercial risks for the company, through the appropriate flow down of terms and conditions, and key performance indicators.

It is essential that this role enables access to on-going innovation and new solutions within the 3rd Party environment.

Responsibilities:
To devise, develop and strengthen the overall organisation\xe2\x80\x99s MPS offering by implementing a robust, commercial strategy with 3rd Party suppliers and such business partners, that incorporates market best practice, existing organisation\xe2\x80\x99s solution(s) and service(s), emerging customer needs and innovation
Total solution ownership when constructing and developing 3rd Party Bids. Working in a pro-active manner with the relevant Bid Development teams such that tender responses are of the desired quality. Ensure messaging and supporting technical responses shine through competitively within tender responses from a 3rd Party perspective. Construct complimentary 3rd Party solutions that share key deliverables against insights and / or customer key criteria so as to give the organisation the best possible chance of winning Bids. Construct tender presentations such that the messaging is reflective of both the customer\'s situation and the clear unique benefits of the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s\' solution, incorporating 3rd Party suppliers
To develop robust processes across the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s\' teams that ensure timely and accurate delivery of 3rd Party solution(s) and service(s)
Manage and coordinate 3rd Party solution requirements by formalising a network of key suppliers that meet and enhance the desired MPS solution. Manage supplier relationships to establish an operational engagement structure and ensure access to new innovations and product pipelines
Develop and implement commercial tools to be used by MPS Solution Architects and MPS Sales Managers to give transparency of available 3rd Party supplier options in each component area of the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s MPS offering
Ensure the effective and relevant provision of 3rd Party financial and operational contract performance reports for Authority review in lines with agreed criteria and KPIs. Ensure consistency of practice aligned to, and exceeding, customer expectations and commercial proposition for MPS and to protect the profit position of the company
Advise on 3rd Party contract set-up and subsequent change control activity, such that all relevant terms and conditions are flowed down, and agreed solution(s) and service(s) are detailed and delivered
Ensure that relevant staff within the business are continually and fully informed as to the offerings of the 3rd Party suppliers aligned with our MPS strategy
Responsibility to ensure that organisation\xe2\x80\x99s MPS solution offerings meet and exceed industry quality standards, customer quality requirements and UKAS needs. The organisation\xe2\x80\x99s compliance and business conduct guidelines are adhered to at all times
You will also be involved in procurement activity, to bring appropriate 3rd parties in to support completion of that tender

Key Skills and experience required:
Understanding of the diagnostic and healthcare environment and of the overall direction of provision of services within pathology, and the evolving challenges faced by our customers
Knowledge of the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s product portfolio; and the spectrum of solutions and services offered by all relevant 3rd Party suppliers
Experience in the negotiation of Supplier contracts, schedules and change control
Knowledge of NHSI strategy, Networks and Key Stakeholders
Operational management and administration
Understands frequently used software programmes including MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word as well as the CRM and financial tools
Project and / or programme management, finance analysis, performance management and reporting, execution of services
Good communication and the ability to deal with customers and colleagues at all levels
Ability to plan, organise, prioritise and delegate
Ability to influence and coordinate x-functional teams not directly under authority

Essential Experience:
Commercial Management within health sector, preferably either NHS or diagnostic laboratory
Proven experience within a logistic background. Ability to develop logistics solutions and services in response to customer and business requirements.
Strong negotiating skills; financial acumen and business acumen. Ability to build effective customer relationships
Formal business orientation skills; ability to establish robust processes and procedures
Proven motivational skills and the ability to maintain a professional manner under all circumstances. Effective matrix management skills
A team player with excellent interpersonal skills

Desirable experience:
Preferable to have worked for either the NHS or diagnostic laboratory companies
It would be beneficial to have an understanding of how procurement runs
