Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations, ensuring that all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with company policies. The role requires a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to road safety regulations.

Duties

Operate a 7.5 tonne lorry for the delivery of goods, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition before each journey. Load and unload goods safely, using appropriate equipment as necessary, including flatbed loading techniques. Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork for each delivery. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with a focus on commercial driving. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving a 7.5 tonne lorry. Ability to drive safely under various road conditions while managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in completing paperwork and maintaining records. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with customers and team members. Experience with flatbed vehicles is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate.
