Job Summary

As a Service Truck Driver & Yard Operative, your key responsibilities will be

the delivery and collection of welfare facilities to and from the customer; the servicing of portable toilet and welfare facilities to agreed standards, and alongside yard duties to include the cleaning and repairing of cabins and portable toilets.

Duties

Collection and delivery of portable toilets and welfare facilities. Servicing of the same. Timely and accurate progress updates to the branch Hire team. Communication of any difficulties arising at the customer's location or on route to the branch Hire team. Driving with the due care and attention required of a vocational driver ensuring you keep to matters such as but not limited to: the speed limit, highway code, EU Driving and Road Transport working time regulations. Thorough (taking approximately 15 minutes) daily vehicle checks ensuring you accurately report defects and/or signs of potential defects. Thoroughly checking your load prior to leaving and ensuring the load remains safe throughout the course of the day. Ensuring you keep your Line Manager fully informed of speeding convictions or fixed penalties applied to your licence - whether car or commercial. Keeping the DVLA fully informed of any reportable medical conditions. Ensure that the systems and procedures adopted by the Company for the protection of its O'Licence and compliance with O'Licence Undertakings are followed. Ensure that you are familiar with the Risk Assessments applicable for your role and the H&S Policy and Procedure of the Company. Attend, engage and constructively contribute to events such as training, driving assessment, toolbox talks and Driver CPC courses arranged by the Company. Ensure that your vehicle is left clean, tidy and free of rubbish as well as adequately stocked for your days work. Notify your Line Manager of any replacement first aid supplies or of any issues with your fire extinguisher. Be flexible and adaptable in your approach to your role and duties whilst working within legal constraints. Any other duties commensurate with your post.

Essential Skills

C1E driving licence qualification, DCPC card and Digi card. Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations. Professional driving skills Capable of working under pressure with good ability to manage their own time. Customer service. Clear communication skills This role includes physical labour and manual handling so a good standard of physical fitness is required.

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of the portable accommodation and toilet hire business

Pay: 28,398.50 per year
