A bit about the role



Experienced and commercially minded retail surveyor to lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of our New Shop Opening Pipeline in line with our current Market Plan (circa 40 sites per year). You will help update the Market Plan, identify suitable opportunities, negotiate deals and present these to the Head of Property with recommendations. If approved you will then liaise with internal Pret departments as well as external property agents, lawyers and planning consultants to complete the acquisition process. You will be expected to promote Pret's acquisition strategy and ensure that Pret are recognised as an active and attractive tenant in the market. You will contribute, as part of wider Property team to the effective day to day running of the business and the shaping of the new store opening strategy. You will be a critical mouthpiece for Pret on all matters relating to new store openings, acting as a brand ambassador for collaboration & team working.

The magic you'll bring



You will be a self aware, approachable, high performing individual used to modelling behaviours which show respect, helpfulness and cooperation, alongside technical know-how and commercial acumen. Impressive experience and understanding of retail and or restaurant acquisition process, and a strong track record of successfully delivering multiple acquisitions simultaneously. Excellent organisational, negotiation and written communication skills. Well respected with good contacts within the wider UK property market. Member of the RICS with minimum 5 years PQE. Able to easily identify potential risks and opportunities and how to resolve or exploit them. Exceptional experience of resolving issues and disputes as well as experience in knowing when and how to escalate important issues. Proficiency in property and mapping software (Geolytix)

The day to day



To provide an appropriate pool of properties from which to select suitable NSO opportunities. To work closely with the Property Finance Partner and Head of Property to deliver financial evaluation of new sites To manage the acquisition process in a timely manner and effectively liaise with the Operations, Construction and Design Team to see the sites through to opening. To effectively manage the external advisors including lawyers, agents and other key stakeholders. To provide the Estates Team with pertinent details to enable them to populate the Estate Management database including external seating or other licensing requirements. To ensure that the Operations Directors and Managing Director are engaged with the acquisitions process and that all relevant information is provided to facilitate accurate sales estimates. To ensure that Construction and Maintenance are aware of the full extent of legal commitments. To promote Pret and emphasise expansion requirements with enthusiasm and commitment. To build relationships with Landlord's and other third parties to ensure Pret is established as a tenant of choice. To deal with issues raised by local planning authorities over Use Class issues and any relevant planning legislation/enforcement action throughout the acquisition process. To maintain a detailed market plan ensuring that all development opportunities are tracked and that landlords and developers are aware of Prets interest.
