Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Tutor to join our Cardiff & Vale tutor team. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge and proven experience in tutoring or teaching, including working with children and young people with special educational needs. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Key Duties

Deliver in-person tuition across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Provide one-to-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs. Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes. Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes engagement and confidence. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational professionals to support students' academic growth. Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Requirements

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a formal educational setting. Prospective applicants should have a degree or be studying on a degree and have excellent subject knowledge and interpersonal skills as well as a working knowledge of the curriculum. Strong understanding of various teaching methodologies and learning styles. Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs, is highly desirable. A DBS check is required; those with an existing DBS can start immediately. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Patience, empathy, and the ability to inspire confidence in students.
nb Tutors will need be be available for a minimum of 6 months - we do not accept short term registrations.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 23.00-26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 20 per week
