Active Outreach Services is a growing education and mentoring provider dedicated to supporting children and young people with

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

and those unable to access mainstream schooling due to emotional, social, or learning difficulties.

Our mission is to deliver personalised, engaging education that helps every learner build confidence, develop key life skills, and achieve meaningful progress at their own pace.

We are currently seeking a qualified and passionate

English ALevel Tutor

in the

Kent

area to provide 1:1 English language and literature tuition. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with a combination of online delivery and in person sessions within the Ashford area.

The Role

As ALevelEnglish Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping YP overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve personal and academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver

personalised 1:1 tutoring

in ALevel English (language and literature). Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet learner's individual needs. Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and progress. Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate daily session records. Communicate regularly with the Active Outreach Services team to review learner goals and outcomes. Uphold

safeguarding standards

and promote the welfare of all learners at all times.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (

QTS

,

PGCE

, or equivalent teaching qualification). Experience supporting children or young people with

SEN

or additional needs. Confident delivering

GCSE-level English

content. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organised, reliable, and able to work independently. Enhanced

DBS check

(or willingness to obtain one - applicant to meet the cost). Ability to travel locally within the

Kent, Ashford

area.
